Simple Baby Boy Cot Quilt

Quilting:

Finally, a new quilt is on its way - it's been a long time between quilts this year. But a request for a commission of a baby quilt from a friend finally got me moving again.

This quilt is a simple pattern of rectangles 9" x 11" in dimension. I'll do some basic straight line quilting and think an orange binding might look the best. I'd also love to find an orange spot for the backing, but will see what I come across!

I'm looking forward to making a few more quilts again now I've broken the drought!

Happy quilting!

The Completed Pretty Petals Quilt

Quilting:

Finally I am getting a few projects finished again - this quilt was just waiting for the binding - which after endless searching for the perfect green stripe - I ended up finding it in my scrap basket!

I got this finished JUST in time to head to Sydney to visit my friend Jo and meet her new little bub Grace!

Sorry, I didn't get a photo - but trust me - she's very cute.

Flower Garden Baby Quilt

Quilting:

The Finished Quilt
I’m right into working through my basket, I mean ugly plastic box of unfinished projects at the moment...how long it lasts who knows, but I'm trying to make the most of it while I can.

I started this quilt late last year with no other desire than to make something girly and while it’s certainly not as much fun as starting a new project, I do enjoy the satisfaction of finishing something!

My aim was just to try and use fabric I already had in my "stash" and make a quilt to throw over yourself when you're lying on the couch.

Unfortunately I ran out of the background white spot fabric pretty quickly which meant I had to scale back my dreams and turn it into a baby/cot quilt.

Pearl cotton quilting in pink, lemon and white

More quilting
There is no current purpose for this quilt - we do have good friends having a bub in the coming months and I'm hoping it’s a girl so I can give them this!

I loved making this quilt - as simple as it was, I think I might have to pull out all my pretty fabrics and make another one soon!

I hand quilted this quilt using pearl cotton in pastel pink and lemon and white in the floral squares and around the borders.

For the binding I had wanted to use a pretty pink and white stripe that I had, but when I cut it up to make the binding I was short by about 20cms!!! (hate that!)

I ended up finding some yellow floral which I really love, so it worked out well in the end.

A Non-Quilter's Cot Quilt

Quilting:

This is a really simple little quilt that I made for a cot. I purchased the fabrics from Spotlight and matched them myself.

I wasn't sure what to do with the edges so I just used scraps to give it a border. I used a big bit of the flowery material for the backing (you could also use a sheet).

Obviously I am not a quilter (Caity's the talented one!), but providing you can sew in a straight line.... it's easy to make something very basic like this!

Happy quilting
