'Busy' Wonky Log Cabin Quilt

I have never really tried a log cabin design before - well, apart from the needle case I made for Cath back here.

I’m the first to admit I am not one for precision - my corners never seem to meet and I can start off with 2 squares exactly the same size and end up with an extra inch left over on one seam - how does that happen?

Anyway, I have been admiring the current trend of the ‘wonky’ block. It seems everything that was once rigid is now completely ‘in’ if it's ‘wonky’!

This is perfect for me for the reasons mentioned above, and so many I figured I better get in and make myself a wonky quilt while I can!

This quilt was therefore produced in THE most wonky fashion you could imagine.. but it was fun and therefore......

First wonky log cabin block!
.... before I knew it the quilt top was finished!

For the backing I just used up scraps I had left over from the blocks -I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out and it was fun playing around with the scraps to try and make a geometric design for the backing.

I just did some very basic quilting on this one - straight-ish lines are my kinda thing!

Finally I bound this quilt in an aqua spot which looks really cute and complements the aqua already in the quilt.
