Safari Life Quilt

Quilting:

I finally finished Thom's Safari Life quilt this week. I hadn't realised I had made it back in July last year until I went to write this post - time really flies!

I loved it even then hanging on the clothes line and blowing in the wind - see Safari Life quilt in progress and I love it even more now that Cheryl from Baci Quilts has done all the machine quilting for me!!! As usual she's done a brilliant job and if you have any quilts you want finished I recommend you contact her!

To back the quilt I pieced together a panel from the Happy Drawing series by Ed Emberly for Cloud Nine fabrics I had along with some left over scraps from making all the turning twenty blocks. I teemed it with a soft charcoal grey cotton to make the bright colours pop even more.

For the binding I used a simple black and white pin stripe which I like to think is adding a little bit of zebra to the quilt. Any you can see in the photo above the quilting pattern is of birds and clouds.

I couldn't be happier with this quilt and with the weather just starting to cool off the timing couldn't be better for Thom to have a proper quilt for his bed.

Happy quilting.
