Quilting:
The Finished Quilt |
I’m right into working through my basket, I mean ugly plastic box of unfinished projects at the moment...how long it lasts who knows, but I'm trying to make the most of it while I can.
I started this quilt late last year with no other desire than to make something girly and while it’s certainly not as much fun as starting a new project, I do enjoy the satisfaction of finishing something!

My aim was just to try and use fabric I already had in my "stash" and make a quilt to throw over yourself when you're lying on the couch.
Unfortunately I ran out of the background white spot fabric pretty quickly which meant I had to scale back my dreams and turn it into a baby/cot quilt.
Pearl cotton quilting in pink, lemon and white |
More quilting |
I loved making this quilt - as simple as it was, I think I might have to pull out all my pretty fabrics and make another one soon!
I hand quilted this quilt using pearl cotton in pastel pink and lemon and white in the floral squares and around the borders.
For the binding I had wanted to use a pretty pink and white stripe that I had, but when I cut it up to make the binding I was short by about 20cms!!! (hate that!)
I ended up finding some yellow floral which I really love, so it worked out well in the end.
