Simple 'Numbers' and 'Letters' Gift Cards

Craft:

The Letter 'E"

I love nothing better than getting/giving a home made gift - the gift is all the better too if the card is also homemade.

Number "9" gift card
There are so many lovely ideas out there – and inspired still by the bunting cards by Cath back here I have now added some of my own – these are super simple and quick to make!

First find some nice card and decide on the final size card you would like to make.

Next step is to choose a font you like. The web is full of amazing font sites and many of them allow you to use the fonts for both personal AND commercial use for free!

Here are a few sites I like browsing…

After you have chosen your font transfer the number (or letter) choose some fabric you would like to use for the card (this project is perfect for using up smaller scraps of fabric).

Then iron on some light weight pellon onto the wrong side of the fabric. You don’t really have to do this, but I find it makes it easier to sew and also makes the card last longer.

"M" for mmmmm ;)
Now trace your letter or number onto the wrong side of the fabric (keep in mind here that the image needs to be a mirror image and don’t do what I did and cut out a pile of letters only to realise you did them back to front!).

The letter "B" card
Cut out the letter/number and attach it to the card with a little dab of glue.

To finish of your card you just need to secure it to the card with a small straight stitch (or you could use a zig-zag too if you liked). I just tried to keep it as close to the edge as possible.

Here are a few more examples of some I have made - they are so cute - I think they might be my standard gift cards now!
